SCUBA and hard hat diving experience began in 1961-62. Certified Los Angeles County Underwater Unit 1969. FILM AND VIDEO CREDITS

1. "At The Edge of a Human Tide" (The Cousteau Society/Turner Broadcasting System, 1986) Dr. Bushing was a consultant on this two-hour television documentary about the Channel Islands of California, part of The Cousteau Society's Rediscovery of the World series for TBS.

2. "Inland Motor Tour Training Video" (StarThrower Educational Multimedia, 1987). Dr. Bushing produced this four part training video series for use by the Santa Catalina Island Company's Discovery Tours sight-seeing division.

3. "The Mysteries of Catalina Island" (Blue Water Entertainment, 2001). Dr. Bushing was a consultant on, and provided digital footage for, this feature film about Santa Catalina Island

4. Re-packaging of "SeaScope" series (Jean-Michel Cousteau Productions, 2000). Dr. Bushing, working with Jean-Michel Cousteau and Dr. Richard Murphy of Jean-Michel Cousteau Productions, repackaged 52 five-minute episodes of the "SeaScope" video series about marine life and related conservation issues for broadcast on Catalina Cable TV

5. "The Beckman Interviews" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2000). Dr. Bushing produced a four-part series of 25-30 minute videos based on a 1988 interview with John Gabriel Beckman, art director for the Catalina Casino murals, Graumann's (now Mann's) Chinese Theatre, "Casablanca," the television series "Designing Women" and many other productions. This series is being broadcast on Catalina Cable TV.

6. "Fur, Feathers, Skin and Scales" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2000). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video about the "other" residents of Santa Catalina Island (invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, etc.) for the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy and for broadcast on Catalina Cable TV.

7. "Life on the Edge" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2000). Dr. Bushing produced this 27-minute video for the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy about the endemic Catalina Island fox (Urocyon littoralis catalinae), found only on Santa Catalina Island, which was recently threatened with extinction due to the introduction of canine distemper virus (CDV) in the population from domestic dogs

8. "Life in the Amber Forest" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2001). Dr. Bushing produced this 45-minute video on the flora and fauna of Catalina's kelp forests for use on the Santa Catalina Island Company's Discovery Tours semi-submersible glassbottom boats.

9. "Kelp Forest Ecology: Introduction" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2001). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video as an introduction to a proposed series of educational videos on the natural history, ecology and conservation issues of southern California kelp forests.

10."Platform Grace" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2002). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the marine life of the Platform Grace oil platform off the coast of Ventura, CA.


11. "Underwater San Miguel Island" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2002). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the marine life of San Miguel Island, one of the southern California Channel Islands.

12. "In Search of the Elusive Black Sea Bass" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2002). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the recovery and natural history of the black sea bass in the waters of Santa Catalina Island.

13. "Common Fish of the La Paz Region" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia and Lindblad Expeditions, 2002). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the common marine fish of the Gulf of California Islands Special Biosphere Preserve between La Paz and Loreto, Baja California, Mexico.

14. "Common Marine Invertebrates of the La Paz Region" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia and Lindblad Expeditions, 2002). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the common marine invertebrates of the Gulf of California Islands Special Biosphere Preserve between La Paz and Loreto, Baja California, Mexico.

17. "Underwater Anacapa Island" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia, 2003). Dr. Bushing produced this 30-minute video on the marine life of Anacapa Island, one of the southern California Channel Islands.

18. "Marine Mammals of the Sea of Cortez and Magdalena Bay" (Star Thrower Educational Multimedia and Lindblad Expeditions, 2003). Dr. Bushing is currently finishing this 30-minute video on the marine mammals (sea lions, dolphins and whales) of the waters around southern Baja California, Mexico.
