This DVD contains two 22-minute episodes about the species of schooling fish commonly referred to as baitfish in southern California waters. Subjects covered include physical description, size and weight, life history information, mating, feeding behavior, predators and their exploita- tion as a human resource through fishing .

The first episode focuses on the jack mackerel and chub mackerel. Only one of these is a true mackerel, the other is an imposter from the jack family.

The second episode looks at the Pacific sardine and topsmelt with references to the anchovy, jacksmelt, grunion and other relatives. The history of the sardine fishing industry is a major topic.

This DVD is $25. Postage via first class mail is $2.50. Other options include USPS Priority Mail. State sales tax of $2.56 (10.25%) is required if shipped to a California address.
