- SANTA CATALINA ISLAND CONSERVANCY, VICE-PRESIDENT FOR
SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION: Responsible for overseeing
Conservancy mission activities in scientific research, education and ecological
restoration. Additionally served as webmaster, GIS specialist and educational
video producer

- SANTA CATALINA ISLAND CO.: developed Catalina
natural and social history reference and training manuals, videos and
instruction for personnel conducting tours and Visitor Information Center;
consulted on promotional brochures, video and computer equipment purchases
- SANTA CATALINA ISLAND CONSERVANCY: responsible for
developing GIS (Geographic Information System) for Catalina Island; created
computerized text database on ecological restoration and Channel Islands
natural history with text search capability to assist Conservancy staff in
research efforts; wrote all computer programs for organization's membership,
road permit, lease, volunteer and other database applications; responsible for
support of all computer hardware and staff training functions
- THE COUSTEAU SOCIETY: consultant on 2-hour TV
documentary "Channel Islands: At The Edge of a Human Tide," part of the 5-year
"Cousteau's Rediscovery of the World" series for Turner Broadcasting
- EVANSTON ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION: responsible for
the design and construction of all exhibits for nature center in a national
historic landmark lighthouse on Lake Michigan
- STAR THROWER EDUCATIONAL MEDIA: developed
educational materials on magnetic media (computer discs, videotape) for
distribution
- USS CONSTITUTION MUSEUM: consultant regarding
history of the motion picture "Old Ironsides" filmed on Catalina Island in
1926
- ANTONIO'S PIZZERIA: financial management and
computer consultant for largest restaurant on Catalina Island
- COUSTEAU INSTITUTE'S PROJECT OCEAN SEARCH: Program
consultant, staff member and guest lecturer involved in the development of
program materials and field activities for summer educational program in marine
and terrestrial ecology under the direct supervision of Jean-Michel Cousteau
- CATALINA ISLAND ODYSSEY: General manager responsible for
all operational aspects of diverse "mini-conglomerate" involved in scheduled
commercial bus service, SCUBA and fishing charter boat operations, campground
development and management, contract business services, special events
promotion, conventions and retail sales employing 15-22 people
- CATALINA ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL: Associate Director for
Finance responsible for entire financial management, corporate records,
budgeting, staffing, payroll, contracts and legal, promotion, theater
management, and souvenirs for 9-day, 45-event non-profit retrospective film
festival
- NORTHROP CORPORATION ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DIVISION:
Division's first Energy Conservation and Pollution Control officer; responsible
for all environmental compliance (federal, state and local air pollution, water
pollution and toxic substances regulations) and resource conservation programs
for $100 million sales aerospace division
- ANAHEIM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (in conjunction with
Northrop Corp.): energy and environmental author for Business Digest, helped
organize monthly Executive Update series and advised Industrial Development
Board on air pollution regulations
- CATALINA ISLAND SCHOOL: Assistant Headmaster, Senior
Master and Chairman of the Science and Math Departments responsible for many
administrative areas and development of 4-year integrated science program
utilizing outdoor laboratory approach
- SEA KAYAK ADVENTURE (in conjunction with the Catalina
Island School): Program Director and Expedition Leader for 3-week summer
program utilizing student-built kayaks to study the natural history of the
California Channel Islands
